Lake Balkhash is a unique natural phenomenon, also located on Kazakhstani soil, is Lake Balkhash. The uniqueness lies in the fact that the waters on its western side are fresh and muddy, while on the eastern side they are salty and clear. It is also noteworthy that the water almost does not mix. The recreational potential of Lake Balkhash is great, it is warm, tourists can comfortably swim in it from May to September. There are a large number of holiday homes on the coast, and there are also deserted beaches where we organize camping during jeep tours, most on the salty side. However, not only beach recreation is developed in Balkhash, because it is home to more than 20 species of fish! We are the only ones who organize a transfer to the underwater fishing base in the Ili River delta, on the fresh side of Lake Balkhash. Lake Balkhash is an endorheic lake, the western part of which is fresh and the eastern part is salty. Balkhash is the second largest perennial salt lake (after the Caspian Sea) and 14th on the list of the largest lakes in the world. The lake is divided by a narrow peninsula into two parts with different chemical characteristics of water, and at the same time, fresh and salt water in the lake do not mix at all.
