"KAZAKH SAFARI"
In this jeep tour we will visit an amazing place - one of the largest national natural parks in Kazakhstan - Altyn Emel.
On the first day we will visit the Saka burial mounds “Besshatyr”, dating back to the 6th-4th centuries BC. The burial complex includes about 30 royal mounds. On the largest of them, work was carried out to better understand the structure of the mounds: it was cut so that tourists had the opportunity to go inside the royal tomb and see everything with their own eyes, and not just look at the hills.
The Besshatyr burial ground is located near the coast of the Kapchagay reservoir, on the shore of which we will stop for a swim and lunch.
Next, we will overcome the eponymous Altyn Emel pass, shimmering in the golden rays of the sun, which, according to legend, was named by the “conqueror of the world” Genghis Khan himself.
The choice of place for an overnight stay is given to the tourist: a hotel (guest house) in the village of Basshi, or a tent camp.
On the second day we will visit the ranger cordon “Kokbastau”, where there is a specially protected natural monument - a 700-year-old willow, from where we will continue our journey to the chalk mountains of Aktau. The mountains are the bottom of a prehistoric sea: colorful hills formed from bluish-gray sandstone and red clay, interspersed with yellow and pink carnelians, jasper and white quartz, reminiscent of a layer cake. There we will go trekking. We provide tourists with a variety of routes that differ in length and complexity.
Our next stop is the volcanic Katutau Mountains. After the volcanic eruptions, the lava solidified and formed many fantastic-looking dark red figures, the bizarre shapes of which we will walk through.
The choice of place to spend the night is also given to the tourist.
On the third day, the pearl of the reserve awaits us, a natural phenomenon - the famous “Singing Dune”, the sands of which in dry weather emit a sound like the melody of an organ. And also, on the way back to Almaty we will visit Buddhist rock paintings - Tamgaly-Tas on the banks of the Ili River.
Note: a jeep tour of Altyn Emel can be reduced to 2 days, but in this case, visiting the Besshatyr mounds, the beach on Kapchagai, hiking in the Aktau mountains are excluded from the program.
