TOUR/TRANSFER TO SKI RESORTS WITH DIN-JEEPTRIP
INFORMATION

Alpine skiing in Kazakhstan originated in 1937. This is the merit of Ivan Gruzis, a professional Austrian ski coach. He and his friends Witold Radal and Anton Weiss were the first to notice and appreciate the potential of the local mountains and began to master the route from the top of Kok-Tobe. Soon they took on students from among the local children, which became the cradle of alpine skiing in Kazakhstan.

After the end of the Second World War, the cable car was taken out of the Alps as a trophy. The USSR Alpine Ski Federation began searching for a place where it would be profitable to install it. Both the Caucasus and the Moscow region were considered, but in the end the choice fell on Shymbulak. It was there that the first lift in the Soviet Union was installed.

Currently, there are 7 ski resorts operating near the city of Almaty. Each of them is unique and meets international standards. There are bases with slopes for every taste: from slopes for beginners to professional black slopes and freeride slopes.
